HAND UP NOT OUT

“HAND UP, NOT OUT” is a training program concept for resume building. Getting in the door is the hardest part so some people just need a hand up, not a hand out.

These job/resume skills are very teachable.

We like HAND UP NOT out especially because many parents struggling with asking for help, or hand outs.

That being said, it always feels good when you earn it yourself. Knowledge is power, and we believe it’s vital to share this knowledge to help parents enter or reenter the workplace so they can better provide for their families.

Not only that, everyone loves giving a hand up, and hand outs are fewer between. Which means we could see a lot of community support for this effort strictly due to the name and sustainable mission.

Our team has successfully launched a similar program many years ago.

Scaling will be our only issue, not implementation.

We have already successful done this at NW Community Outreach in 2014 where we gave them nice shirts, pants, shoes, (this was our location) resume assistance on old computer towers I donated

Also, writing letter of recommendation based on interview with them to better describe their skills helps a lot, because “I can do anything” does not get the job.
